Town Facilities Survey

We are a group of students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute conducting an inventory and evaluation of Nantucket’s municipal facilities. We are working with Gregg Tivnan, Nantucket’s Assistant Town Manager, and Larry Kester, the Town Facilities Manager to gather and organizing information through facility site visits and interviews of people who run these facilities. One of our goals is to help raise awareness of facility issues. These facilities are in varying conditions which can, in some cases, cause distractions and discomfort for employees and visitors. Their scattered locations occasionally hinder inter-departmental cooperation and communication. Data collected from the inventories and evaluations will be compiled into a database to be used by the town for improved facility management and budgeting. Recommendations regarding these facilities will be enhanced by incorporating public opinion.
