The Nantucket Planning and Economic Development Commission (NP&EDC) has initiated a 45-day public review of an amendment to the Public Participation Plan (PPP) for Nantucket.
The PPP outlines a strategy for engaging the public in review of the NP&EDC’s Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for transportation activities.
The public review period for the RTP, TIP, and UPWP is being amended from a 30-day period to a 21-day period. This change will allow the NP&EDC to approve release of these documents for public review at a monthly meeting, and then take action to close public review and approve these documents at the next month’s meeting.
A copy of the amended PPP is available at the Town Building at 16 Broad Street, PLUS Office at 2 Fairgrounds Road, the Nantucket Atheneum, and on-line by clicking here Public Participation Plan.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Public Safety Facility at 4 Fairgrounds Road. The public review period will conclude at a public meeting on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Public Safety Facility at 4 Fairgrounds Road.
For more information, or to make comment within the review period, please contact Transportation Planner T. Michael Burns at (508) 325-7587, or firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments may also be submitted to: NP&EDC, 2 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA 02554.
