NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE TAKING OF VARIOUS PAPER STREETS AND A PARCEL OF LAND AS AUTHORIZED BY WARRANT ARTICLE 117 of the 2008 ATM, WARRANT ARTICLES 74 AND 76 OF THE 2010 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING AND ARTICLES 98, 100, 107 AND 109 OF THE 2011 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.
Please be advised that a public hearing will be held by the Nantucket Board of Selectmen on March 28, 2012 pursuant to the authority of Chapter 79 of Massachusetts General Law, or otherwise, to consider (1) taking the fee or lesser interests in certain parcels of land within private roads and all rights of passage over such private roads and (2) taking the fee interest in a certain parcel of land; for general municipal purposes, for public ways or for open space, as specified in the Town Meeting Articles referenced. The private roads and parcel being considered are as follows:
- West Tristram Avenue as remaining between the eastern property line of a Parcel G1 and the western property lines of Map 32 Parcel 18 and Parcel N2 as shown on a plan entitled “Disposition Plan in Nantucket, Mass. of Tristram Avenue, Alliance Lane, Proprietors Road Assessors Map 31 & 32” (2 sheets) dated May 31, 2011 by Bracken Engineering, Inc.;
- Alliance Lane between the northern sideline of Eel Point Road and the southern sideline of West Tristram Avenue.
All of the above as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 117 of the 2008 Annual Town Meeting.
- Frazer and Rosaly Lanes between the easterly sideline of Baxter Road and westerly sideline of Town-owned property known as Town Assessor Map 49, Parcel 9;
- Unnamed Way located on and between the property at 63 Baxter Road known as Town Assessor Map 49, Parcel 22 and the property at 61 Baxter Road known as Town Assessor Map 49, Parcel 21.
All of the above as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 74 of the 2010 Annual Town Meeting.
- Dunham and Irving Streets between the northern sideline of Nobadeer and the southerly sideline of Weweeder Avenues;
- Laurel Street (n.k.a.Canonicus Street between the northern sideline of an unnamed way and the southern sideline of Atlantic Avenue;
- Station Street between the western sideline of Atlantic Avenue and its terminus at an extension of the southern lot line of a property at 5 Station Street (Assessor Map 87 Parcel 114) then west to the western sideline of Station Street;
- Curve Street between the northeastern sideline of Station Street and the western sideline of Canonicus Street (f.k.a.or a.k.a Laurel Street);
- Auriga Street (f.k.a. School Street) between the southern sideline of Atlantic Avenue and a southwestern property line of Assessor Map 87 Parcel 150;
- A portion of Nonantum Avenue between the western sideline of Laurel Street and the eastern sideline of Atlantic Avenue;
- Unnamed way between the northern sideline of an unnamed way and the southern property line of a property owned by Terrio et al as shown on a plan entitled “Plan to Acquire Land for General Municipal Purposes in Nantucket, MA, dated December 21, 2011 by Charles W. Hart and Associates;
- Everett Street between the southern sideline of Weweeder Avenue to the Atlantic Ocean not including any portion of the Boulevarde;
- Boulevarde from the western sideline of Everett Street to the western lot line of Assessor Map 88 Parcel 31.
All of the above as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 98 of the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.
- Chapomis Avenue and a portion of Webster Street between the southern sideline of Monohansett Road and the centerline of Webster Street to the northwestern lot line of Assessor Map 79 Parcel 12 (Nantucket Memorial Airport);
- A portion of Wilson Street between the southern sideline of Monohansett Road and the northwestern lot line of Assessor Map 79 Parcel 12 (Nantucket Memorial Airport);
- School Street (s.k.a Auriga Street) between the eastern sideline of Atlantic Avenue and the southern sideline of Weweeder Avenue;
- Atlantic Avenue between the northern sideline of Nobabeer to the southern sideline of Weweeder Avenues;
- Pocomo Avenue between the eastern sideline of Lovers Lane to the centerline of Clifford Street;
- Dearborn and Hawthorne Streets and Central Avenue between the northern line of Chappomis Avenue and the northern property line of Assessor Map 79 Parcel 133;
- A portion of Chappomis Avenue between the western sideline of Skyline Drive and the southeast lot line of Assessor Map 79 Parcel 81;
- Irving Street between Skyline Drive and the northern property line of Assessor Map 79 Parcel 133;
All of the above as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 100 of the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.
AND
- A portion of Clifford Street between the northern sideline of Pochick to the southerly sideline of Pocomo Avenues as authorized by Article 76 of the 2010 Annual Town Meeting.
- A portion of Vestal Street shown as Parcel “A”, “D” and “E” on a plan entitled “Roadway Acquisition Plan in Nantucket, Mass. of a Portion of Vestal Street Extension Shown on L.C. Plan 14973-F”, dated September 2, 2011, by Bracken Engineering, Inc., as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 107 of the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.
- A parcel of land shown on Assessor Map 21 as Parcel 146, Rear Quidnet Road as authorized by the affirmative vote of Warrant Article 109 of the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.
These properties consist of numerous parcels which are shown on maps on file with the Planning Office at 2 Fairgrounds Road.
The public hearing will be in the PSF Community Room at 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA, at 6:00 PM.
