The Earth Channel program allows Town Meetings such as the Board of Selectman, Airport Commission, Finance Committee, and others, to be streamed live on the Town of Nantucket’s website as well as archived for future reference with Video On-Demand. With streaming video, viewers can access any program on-demand, at their leisure. The Indexing feature provides an “index” to each section of the meeting which allows the end user to find their interests quickly and efficiently. Streaming media provides the ideal technology to help foster Open Government, enhanced transparency, and increased citizen involvement.
