Risk Management Personnel at Cape Cod Five is partnering with the Nantucket Police Department to talk about scams that are on the rise, particularly targeting our older citizens. This presentation explains current scams, how to identify them and what to do in case of an incident. New scams are invented every day and new twists to old scams are just as prevalent. Scammers are making more use of phones and the internet than ever before. Cape Cod Five hopes to enable attendees to be more prepared when faced with that challenge. The presentation is recommended for caregivers, family and friends of our older population. There is NO SOLICITATION associated with the event and it is being presented as part of our Financial Education Program.

Rosenblatt shares his thoughts on themes such as originality, inspiration and imagination, and recounts the surprising turns his writing life has taken over the years. Roger Rosenblatt has worked at Time magazine and PBS News Hour, among others. He has been awarded two George Polk Awards, a Peabody Award, and an Emmy. In 2015, he received the Kenyon Review Award for lifetime literary achievement. Doors open at 5:30pm.

The Linda Loring Nature Foundation is excited to announce the 1st Ever Birds and Brews! Join us on May 13th for this thrilling two-part event! The morning will feature a birding blitz across different island habitats, in which we attempt to observe as many species as possible. In the afternoon we will head over to Cisco Brewers to tally species lists, compile our results, and celebrate bird conservation/research. The morning birding session will begin at 8:00am and go till noon. The afternoon brewery session will last from noon to 3:00pm.
