Recreational Shellfish Licenses are available to purchase in the Marine Department at 34 Washington Street. The License is valid from April 1st to March 31st of the following year. If you are intersted in purchasing a license you will need the following:
- A Photo ID with your Nantucket address, if you do not have a photo ID with your Nantucket address you will then need to provide us with a utility bill in YOUR name with your Nantucket address. We accept all utility bills except telephone bills.
- We accept Mastercard, Visa and personal checks. We DO NOT accept cash.
- You must be present to purchase your license, you cannot purchase the license on line, not for a family member or spouse.
- If you are a Nantucket resident and over the age of sixty, you are eligible for a FREE life time license
The Fee are as follows:
- Resident l Shellfish License: $25.00
- Non-Resident Shellfish License: $ 100.00
- Resident Over Sixty: Free
- Non-Resident over sixty: $25.00
The Marine Department will provide you with a Tide Chart, a map and a species guide when you purchase your license.
