Welcome to FY 2025
On behalf of the Nantucket Community Preservation Committee (the “CPC”) please accept our appreciation for taking the time to obtain a copy of the CPC’s Request for Proposals for Fiscal Year 2025 funding. We see your interest in requesting funds as a direct reflection of your care and concern for Nantucket.
As you can imagine, the number of projects that come before the CPC each year is phenomenal (an average of 30 projects per year). Funding versus requests is at best disproportionate; so many hard decisions are made to best utilize these funds. This RFP serves as a tool that the CPC uses to uniformly gauge projects annually. Since this RFP also serves as an informational document about your project, it is frequently referenced to by many individuals and organizations from the time of submission until the project is completed.
The RFP serves as your information source. It is important that all information be completed to the best of your ability. Please do not deviate from the format of the RFP. Your proposal will be compared against many requests, so for us uniformity in the application is very important. Where information is unavailable or not applicable, please so specify rather than leaving information blank. Time is of the essence with respect to the completeness of your submission. Please note that incomplete submissions may be grounds for rejecting an application. The deadline for submitting a proposal this year is Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 4:00 PM. By this deadline, all pertinent information must be accepted by our office personnel at 7C Hanabea Lane.
It is also important for us to state that upon acceptance of your project at Annual Town Meeting, you will be required to provide a deed restriction against your project. Please note this deed restriction is not an optional requirement; it is a requirement by state law of every Community Preservation Committee. Please note that we can and will act as a reference source for information about deed restrictions, but it is your ultimate responsibility to initiate and complete this process. Also note that monies for creating, implementing and monitoring a deed restriction may not come from CPC funds. You will be required to have the deed restriction completed by no later than the time you have utilized up to 50% of your allocated appropriation. In a case whereby you believe that your project is exempt from such a restriction, you must provide proper documentation supporting this exemption. It is the ultimate decision of the Committee to accept or reject this exemption.
