1. What are the current landfill fees?

The landfill fees are been reviewed and will be published in January 2020.

2. What is accepted recyclable items?

The following items are recyclable:

• All plastic 1-7
• Cardboard
• Glass bottles - all colors
• Junk mail
• Magazines
• Metal
• Newspaper
• White paper

3. Can I toss out my trash in black bags?

No black bags are not accepted at the landfill, only clear or white bags.

4. What do I do with Styrofoam peanuts?

Seal them in a clear plastic bag and toss them into the bulky bin.

5. How do I dispose of latex paint?

Mix paint with kitty litter. After it has hardened, toss the can into the metal bin. Do not use sand, it is nonporous and will not harden.

6. How do I recycle full cans of food?

Empty out contents into household trash and toss the cans into the appropriate window.

7. What do I do with cardboard boxes?

They must be emptied and flattened and thrown down the cardboard shoot.

8. What do I do with a plastic container full of cooking grease?

Throw it into the household trash bin.

9. Where do I throw bubble wrap?

Throw it into the bulky bin.

10. Where do I toss cardboard boxes full of spray foam?

Throw it in the household bin.

11. What do I do with sensitive papers?

Seal them and take them to the tipping floor at the landfill where they will be digested.

12. Where do I throw mulch and fertilizer bags from my business?

They go into the C and D Building.

13. Where do I toss bags of fertilizer, lime and grass seed?

If they do not contain pesticides, they go into the household trash bin.

14. I just donated my time and cleaned up the beach. Do I have to separate the recyclables from the beach debris?

Yes.

15. I just cleaned up my job site and there are recyclables in my bags, do I have to separate them?

Absolutely - they can not go in to the C and D Building.
